FBIG: 1. Setup

Before you start drafting your campaign on Facebook Ads Manager, you need to ensure that each market has a proper account set up. This is especially important for all new markets that are being onboarded to make sure performance data is stored for every country separately and is easy to track.

There are three key things that you need in order to launch your campaign successfully:

  1. An established FB ads account for each market.

  2. An established FB market page that is connected to the Alpro Global FB page.

  3. An Alpro Instagram account that is linked to the FB ads account you are planning to use.

All three elements can be checked in the backend of Facebook Business Manager via three steps:

  1. Go to business.facebook.com.

  2. Select the business unit you need (Alpro / Provamel / Vega).

  3. Go to the tab Business Settings and check that all settings are in order.

For all technical and non-technical questions, you can always contact the Facebook Business support team via this form or reach out to the dedicated Facebook account manager.

3.1.1.1 HOW TO CREATE A FACEBOOK PAGE?

All local Facebook pages are located under the common Alpro Global Facebook page. Global Pages is a framework which enables brands and businesses to provide localized versions of their content for their customers all over the world. With Global Pages, you can maintain one universal brand name, total fan count, vanity URL, and global insights across your entire fan base (see the image below).

This means that Alpro can reach each active market in its own native language but sharing total fan count and global insights across its entire fan base. More information about Global Pages can be found here.

If you are missing a Facebook page for one of the markets, you can create a new one by following a few steps:

  1. Go to business.facebook.com.

  2. Select the business unit you need (Alpro / Provamel / Vega).

  3. Go to Business Settings.

  4. Go to Accounts > Pages Click on the blue button Add > Create a New Page.

  5. Select Brand or Product > Give your page a name (with the country’s 2-letter code) and select a sub-category Brand (see the example below).

  6. Once done, reach out to your Facebook representative to file a request of integrating this new page under the Global Pages structure. Keep in mind it might take up to 1-2 weeks to finalize the settlement.

  7. Once done, you can grant standard or editor access to your local agency and they can start posting content.

  8. Grant Admin access to your global team members via the Business Settings. You can also grant Editor access to the local Digital and Brand managers, as well as to their local creative agency. Make sure to use only work email addresses for this purpose.

3.1.1.2 HOW TO CREATE A FACEBOOK AD ACCOUNT?

Each active Alpro market (with few exceptions) has its own Facebook Ad Account. This is to ensure clear billing segregation and smooth analytics.

In order to create a new ad account, do the following:

  1. Go to business.facebook.com.

  2. Select the business unit you need (Alpro / Provamel / Vega).

  3. Go to Business Settings.

  4. Go to Accounts > Ad Accounts > Click on the blue button Add > Create a New Ad Account.

  5. Give your account a name (with the country’s 2-letter code) and select the relevant time zone (see the example below).

  6. Select Euro as your currency and the correct payment method (Alpro Comm VA for all markets outside the EU4, BE & DE, Alpro UK Ltd for UK & IE and Alpro Soja Nederland BV for NL).

  7. Click Next and select My business (Alpro) > Click Create.

  8. Grant admin access to your global team members.

If you need to check any invoices or billing details of a particular account, you can do so by going to Business Tools and selecting Billing (see image below). There you can view all invoices for each particular account and also download them, if needed.
