Google Data Studio - Annual Feedback Report

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Intro

In Google Data Studio, an annual feedback report has been created for the EU4 markets. The account 'digital@alpro.com' has ownership, meaning that these reports will be send out from this email address.

In contrary with the monthly website recap and quarterly audience report, this report supports on manual data and can therefore not be automated. Feedback should be downloaded from Usabilla on an annual basis and uploaded in a Google Sheet to make the data usable for Data Studio.

If markets wish to obtain extra insights, they can simply reach out.

Report lay-out

The reports shows feedback that website visitors left on the feedback button of the website. Two types of reports have currently been created. Their purposes are explained below.

1. Department reports

In a first attempt to structure all this feedback, these feedback items have been categorized according to their topic. The different topics are currently:

  • Recipes
  • Coupons
  • Diet
  • Sustainability
  • Digital
  • Products
  • Sales
  • Marketing

According to this topic-categorization, a first report has been created for sales & product feedback for the EU4.

2. Digital deep-dive report

A second type of report has been created with the goal of taking a deep-dive into the feedback concerning the topic 'digital'. Here, feedback is divided into following categories:

  • Feedback button
  • E-commerce
  • Other
  • UX
    • General
    • Flow
    • Search
    • Lay-out

Currently, there is 1 report for each market in the EU4.

Creating a feedback analysis report

Below, the different steps towards creating both analysis-reports are explained.

1.  Department reports

STEP 1. Download the feedback for the relevant market from GetFeedback.

Under 'Campaigns', click 'Workspaces', select the window of choice (e.g. Alpro Feedback UK), select the preferred date range and download the feedback.

STEP 2. Divide the feedback into topic-buckets. To help you with this, an automated Excel has been created that uses a self-defined dictionary to recognize whether feedback-items relate to a specific topic or not.

E.g. for 'digital', the dictionary contains: 'website', 'site', 'online', 'e-commerce', 'link', 'download', 'print', ...

STEP 3. To create a report for a specific department, activate the relevant filter.

STEP 4. Copy-paste the feedback that is left (i.e. the feedback for this specific department) into a Google Worksheet.

STEP 5. Duplicate an existing GetFeedback report in Google Data Studio and change the data source to the Google Worksheet you just created.

2. Digital deep-dive report

STEP 3. Activate the 'digital' filter so that only feedback-items related to the website are shown.

STEP 4. Copy these items and paste them into a Google Worksheet.

STEP 5. Insert 3 new columns after the feedback column in the file and call them 'Sentiment', 'Topic', 'Website-topic'. Go through the feedback items and characterize them as follows:

  • Sentiment: Positive / Negative / Neutral
  • Topic: UX / Feedback-button / E-commerce / Other / Not relevant / ...
  • IF UX, then a Website-topic should be specified: General / Flow / Lay-out / Print / Search / ...

STEP 6. Duplicate an existing GetFeedback report in Google Data Studio and change the data source to the Google Worksheet you've been working with.
